Job Title: Contracts Specialist

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Contracts Specialist will be responsible for vetting and tracking the execution of customer contracts including professional development services contracts, program contracts, amendments, and other various customer contracts and side letter agreements in accordance with HMH policies.
  • The Contracts Specialist will review, route and collect input on customer student data privacy agreements partnering closely with Sr. Contracts Specialist, Legal, Information Security and program managers as necessary.
  • The Contracts Specialist will draft and process standard agreements when required.
  • The Contracts Specialist will manage redline changes on agreements through customer acceptance.
  • The Contracts Specialist will communicate updates, requirements, and expectations to sales and Bids and Contracts departments as needed, including notes from bi-weekly meetings to review status of student data privacy agreements.
  • Ensures final execution of contract documents and recording of contract terms in company databases, i.e, SAP and SFDC, and archival of executed contracts according to HMH policy. 
  • The Contracts Specialist will assist with state or district adoption bids on an as needed basis.
  • The Contracts Specialist must have a basic understanding of contract law.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience working with contracts and contract laws required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Law related field or equivalent years of experience required.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize at times of high volume.
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel is required.
  • Paralegal Certification is preferred.
  • Experience in SalesForce.com and SAP experience is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
