Role Summary:

You are an energetic creative leader, ready to make an impact in the highly competitive and evolving educational technology market. As a UX Lead, you are a leader in a collaborative agile environment working with high-performing, cross-functional teams to define the needs of students and teachers and create and validate effective digital solutions. You have strong leadership skills, a passion for your craft, and a love of problem-solving. You create seamless intuitive solutions informed by UX best practices as well as current and emerging design trends and technologies that engage, surprise, and delight users of all ages.

In your role as Lead UX Design, you will be responsible for directing the UX R&D and product design within your cross-functional team with an opportunity to drive UX strategy and Design Thinking methodologies within an iterative development model. You’ll provide design direction for the team and mentor the designers working on your team.

 

As part of a cross-functional team of product managers, marketers, designers, engineers, subject matter experts, and other key stakeholders, you are a team player. Your tasks will include:

  • Being the voice of the user on your team, ensuring we are focusing on the right problems and value for our users.
  • Creating digital design solutions that are a delight to use and provide a frictionless path through content and connected product offerings.
  • Planning and facilitating workshops to involve your cross-functional team in the design process.
  • Creating experience maps, storyboards, user scenarios, wireframes, mock-ups, and user flows for rapid testing and iteration.
  • Validating ideas and designs using best practices in accessibility and UX Research.
  • Collaborating and communicating professionally with other internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Working in an agile environment and comfortable with changing priorities, demands and timelines.

 

What you’ll need:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in UX Design, Human-computer interaction, interaction design, or related field
  • Strong work portfolio that demonstrates your capabilities in the UX process, and product design
  • Strong ability to recognize and predict use cases and user interaction, including happy path as well as edge and corner cases, and incorporate them into designs
  • Experience or understanding of working within a cross-functional team or large-scale software development lifecycle using agile methodology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • An understanding of UX research methods
  • Proficient in visual design programs such as:
    • Figma, Sketch, Mural & Adobe suite

 Benefits and Salary Range (US Only - Included for Remote Roles)

Salary Range - $120,000 - $135,000. Our salary ranges are based on national averages.  We have wide ranges so we can be flexible and determine compensation based on a number of factors including the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and location.
