The Marketing Director for Campaign Development is responsible for conceptualizing, creating, developing, and implementing campaigns to support HMH revenue and pipeline objectives within assigned area. The Marketing Director is a key business strategist and partner to the HMH Sales Team. In addition, this position closely collaborates with Customer Success, and HMH's Marketing and Management Peers in key go to market initiatives.

 

This Marketing Director will focus on the following areas: developing local campaigns to support HMH’s ability to compete in local state adoption; address key state education and funding initiatives; extend national marketing efforts by localizing messaging; and help accelerate and extend existing sales opportunities through targeted campaigns in assigned area. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Engage in strategy-based marketing campaign planning that drives toward revenue goals for assigned state, regional and local area to ensure maximum return on marketing investment, resources, and sales revenue.
  • Develop plans and drive execution of strategic marketing across multiple channels to meet sales objectives, including digital and print collateral, social media, web presence and activities, email and inside sales plans, specialized proposals, prospect events, presentations, etc.
  • Prioritize and execute customized content for strategic campaigns to increase revenue and supplement national marketing activities.
  • Analyze how programs are positioned nationally and develop targeted messaging and solutions based on revenue potential and customer needs.
  • Use a data-driven approach to decision-making and prioritization.
  • Internalize educational trends and initiatives to create campaigns and tailor messaging that is on point, pedagogically sound and strategically meaningful to the customer.
  • Leverage HMH competitive differentiators to strengthen our position in targeted account campaigns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure campaign objectives align with targeted HMH goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of national campaigns and offer advice for usage/modification for initiatives to effectively generate leads.
  • Participate in pre and post-mortems to increase knowledge of best channels to use for effectiveness/ROI.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing or education. MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in education, preferably focused on K-12 curriculum with experience marketing to school districts.
  • Proven track record of Integrated marketing planning and execution across a range of tactics including, but not limited to direct mail, website creation, email, and social media channels.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs, Acrobat DC Pro, Salesforce, and SharePoint. Website design and coding a plus.
  • Knowledge of education landscape and funding
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing)
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls and online meetings.
