In this hands-on role, you will be tasked with creating a vision for a cross-functional data services team providing metrics to influence product development and drive student results. You will work with our data team to prepare and analyze insight-rich data streams and will collaborate closely with other product owners and departments to make informed decisions using crisp, coherent metrics and reports on platform usage trends, new or existing feature usage and uptake, etc.


Position Responsibilities

  • Advise and implement the data strategy and vision for platform and learning initiatives
  • Articulate the data vision and roadmap in long- and short-term planning and business case development efforts
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a healthy backlog for new data requirements
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather clarity on data requirements and expectations
  • Create epics and user stories from multiple sources and use cases
  • Participate in preparation and sizing of stories as well as other scrum ceremonies
  • Prioritize data requirements with the data team based on market needs and overall business value
  • Lead and manage change within the organization by building consensus among all stakeholders
  • Understand and identify data needs to provide direction to stakeholders



  • Several years’ experience in software development product management, preferably in education technology
  • Experience leading and managing a feature-rich product roadmap (aligning it to business drivers, keeping it relevant to internal and external customers and market needs)
  • Demonstrated success and experience leading teams with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • An understanding of data interrogation with the ability to prepare metrics and regularly report on platform/product trends to drive data driven decisions
  • Knowledge of education technology (K-12) industry technology trends, user experience (educators, students, and administrators), and classroom needs
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to present business cases, vision, and reports to all stakeholders
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and make difficult decisions with speed and accuracy


Bonus Points: (But not essential) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or technical discipline preferred
  • Agile Product Manager/Owner Certification preferred
  • Previous work with co-located product or development teams
  • Experience creating self-service analytics dashboards.
