Job Responsibilities:

Provides assistance and guidance to other staff assigned to business units within supported business vertical.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Develop annual budgets - coordinates the development, implementation and control of budgets by compiling, preparing, and analyzing budget data.
    • Create quarterly forecasts.
    • Monitor and evaluate budgets and forecasts.
  • Communications and Technical Support
    • Maintain communication with internal clients regarding financial matters.
    • Provide information and technical support in the development and revision of processes.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Assist in managing the Division’s financial and sales reporting functions!
    • Assist internal clients in the month-end close process.
    • Perform variance analysis.
    • Provide ad hoc reports and analysis for various internal clients as requested.
    • Develop new reports as necessary to improve divisional efficiency.
    • Plan and monitor timelines to meet strict deadlines in reporting as required.
  • Research and Data Analysis
    • Identify and communicate key trends impacting revenue, expense, and EBITDA.
    • Sales Pipeline analysis and research
    • Research and analyze financial data for internal clients as required.
    • Review and analyze deal profitability as required.
    • Collect, retrieve and organize data to identify financial discrepancies and resolve issues.
    • Recommend solutions and ensure corrections or changes are implemented properly.

  • Development of business process models for use in managing selling aspects of business.
  • Measuring sales efficacy       
  • Developing robust pipeline reporting process and analysis framework

  • Analysis of sales implementations


Systems/Applications Knowledge:


  • Microsoft Excel (highly skilled)
  • Microsoft Access (skilled, including reporting)
  • SAP R/3, Business Warehouse



  • Salesforce.com
  • Business Objects Explorer (or similar)


Experience and Education:


  • Finance or Business B.S/B.A
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
  • Business partnering skills with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexibility to work as position demands with a high degree of reliability.
  • Strong analytical, qualitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing deadlines, and prioritizes work appropriately.
  • Proven ability to act with confidentiality, discretion, and flexibility.
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English essential, comfort in working with multi-location teams.
  • Analytical skills for the purpose of providing the best financial reporting solutions.
  • Aptitude to own and manage small to medium sized projects.

  • Publishing Industry knowledge
  • Experience supporting a large sales organization
  • Technical Accounting knowledge
  • Business Process analysis and design


Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing)
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls and online meetings.
