Job Title: Business Reporting Analyst

 

Purpose of the Role:

The Business Process/Reporting Analyst will be responsible for providing analysis, business analytics, decision support, and productivity tools to the Operations teams through initiatives designed to meet overall business objectives. The Business Process/Reporting Analyst role will define metrics, conduct analysis, create and

maintain databases and applications, extend the use of core enterprise systems, and create presentations to communicate the health of operations. The individual will also drive collaboration across business and technical teams to define enhanced business processes and tools and effectively implement solutions which enable business improvements.

 

Overall Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily and month end/quarter end open order reporting.
  • Review open orders and identify trends, risks, and opportunities and present findings to senior management, as well as partner with key leaders to ensure department objectives are met.
  • Analyze information using broad and deep knowledge of both the business and the technical aspects of all Order Management/Operations functions.
  • Develop robust analytics, tools and reporting which will drive to a consistent, efficient approach to supporting management decisions.
  • Partner with team members, managers, and directors in all operational functions to define metrics to monitor performance, drive efficiency of processes, and achieve targeted outcomes of the department.
  • Identify, develop, and implement improvements for data accuracy and reporting by presenting complex analytical issues in a clear, easy-to-understand format.
  • Identify key issues and work with management and staff to solution current process enhancements and operational effectiveness to best in class, including the identification and implementation of automation.
  • Balance multiple tasks and reprioritize as needed.
  • Sort through ambiguity and work in sometimes undefined roles.
  • Troubleshoot data issues affecting management visibility and clearly communicate issues.
  •  Learn new technologies and skills.
  • Implement best practice project management processes and systems to help define project plans and timelines, track and report progress and changes and coordinate information flow between all stakeholders.
  • Provide order clean up data support.
  • Respond to higher level customer cases.
  • Othe duties assigned by manager.

 

To be successful you must have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com.
  • Experience with Power BI, or other data visualization tools.
  • Experience in SAP BW and general business intelligence systems/processes.
  • Experience applying business intelligence tools in a production environment.
  • Experience in SQL including writing queries, creating views and tables, and loading data.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and technical skill required to analyze data and gather meaningful conclusions.
  • Experience in planning, assessing, leading, and implementing change.
  • Self-starter who drives continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, observational, and communication skills. Understands audience and matches communication methods accordingly.
  • Recognized ability to lead stakeholders towards common purpose.
  • Previous experience supporting customer facing organizations desired.

 

Education requirements, years of experience and any physical requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a STEM field.

 

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of SAP experience.
  • 2+ years reporting experience in operations and supply chain.
  • Experience in the publishing industry.

 

Experience to architect, create, and maintain database tools.

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement process success.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls and online meetings.
