Sr Financial Performance Analyst

The Operations Sr Financial Performance Analyst is responsible for supporting Strategic Sourcing & Transportation reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis for the Operations organization (or sub-organization) to measure the health of the business relative to goals, targets, and budgets.  Specific duties will include: compilation of the annual budget, monthly & quarterly forecasts, monthly reporting packages, variance analysis, dashboard reporting, projects, and ad-hoc analysis to provide decision support for senior leadership.  This position has high visibility across multiple departments within the company to consolidate numerous data points, analyze and review inputs, and subsequently deliver clear and concise leading data and analytical information to empower leadership to make critical strategic decisions.

 

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Create and summarize spend data analytics related to Strategic Sourcing for purchases of physical inventory as well as support special projects and ad hoc analysis for Procurement
  • Measure Strategic Sourcing key performance indicators/objectives and key results metrics and assist the team with reaching or beating their annual targets
  • Monitor Supplier performance metrics providing insight into data and leading indicators
  • Support Strategic Sourcing team for supplier business review meetings by serving as a subject matter expert and project manager
  • Development of the annual Transportation Budget as well as periodic forecasts related to key financials such as Inbound & Outbound Freight
  • Reconcile and align the operational Transportation data to Financial results
  • Create complex analysis that summarizes primary drivers of change related to volume, rate, & mode mix
  • Analyze Transportation profitability and associated cost pressure impacts
  • Develop alignment with the Transportation Team and build relationship with the team to understand operations

 

Other Accountabilities:

  • Measurement of monthly and quarterly financial and operations process results
  • Measurement and presentation of key performance indicators relative to goals, targets, budgets and trends
  • Creation of new metrics and scorecards through collecting, analyzing data and identifying trends
  • Automation/improvement of measurement and reporting tools to improve efficiency
  • Development of new measurement tools to fill performance measurement requirement
  • Ongoing ad hoc analysis of data and information to identify areas of performance and financial risks and opportunities. Presentation of findings sufficiently far enough in advance to provide senior level management the visibility and lead time to exploit opportunities and/or mitigate risk
  • Prepare and lead presentations for senior leadership as requested
  • Data mining to support variance analyses and research
  • Serve as backup for other team members for work duties

 

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of the fundamental rules and guidelines within accounting principles.
  • 5+ years of experience related to Finance, Data Analysis, or Supply Chain Operations focusing on budgeting, planning, forecasting, reporting, modeling and measurement
  • Advanced skills and experience in MS Office Suite, including demonstrated use of Excel in a professional environment (use of pivot tables, vLookup function, and other Excel functions and modeling tools) as well as proficiency in Access, PowerPoint, & Word
  • Understanding of variance analysis and financial performance monitoring
  • Ability to summarize clearly and concisely financial analysis results, and the ability to explain the meaning and implications in varying levels of detail depending on the audience
  • Analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strict attention to detail and intensity around consistently delivering high quality outputs
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-Motivated / driven to develop skillset
  • Ability to think outside of the box and desire to continuously improve
  • Presentation/facilitation skills

 

Nice to Have:

  • Master's Degree (MBA, Finance, Accounting or equivalent)
  • Existing knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with SAP ERP, SAP HANA, SAP BW, SAP BPC
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI

 

Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
