The Role:

The Account Executive will be a key member of the HMH International Sales team and hold accountability for the promotion and effective sales of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Company connected solution to Schools within their assigned territory.

The primary objective for the role will be to drive incremental business growth above and beyond the current business established and success will be measured against sales Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
 

A high degree of travel is required, working location is in Beijing, China.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive territory plan to service customers and identify strategic sales opportunities. Time management, attention to detail and analysis of customer base is important, for prioritization of customer calls, emails, and scheduled appointments to drive sales pipeline advancement, accurate forecasting, and quota achievement.
  • Visit international schools, private schools, language training centers to create and maintain a solid increase in sales of HMH digital solution.
  • Proactively share market trends, industry news, and competitive information with leadership to impact future HMH offerings and solutions. Identify and report new business opportunities, assist and implement the related action plans in order to generate and close the Connected solution sales.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of each curriculum area to converse comfortably with customers, determine their needs, and to consult on products and resources that will facilitate customers in meeting their educational objectives. Effectively maintain and grow knowledge of accounts, HMH offerings, and key trends in education to develop credibility amongst customers and internal colleagues.
  • Provide product updates and service to current customers, new HMH digital teaching and learning system. Organize and provide proper connected solution presentations to clients and institutions.
  • Conduct the related Marketing activities in the territory throughout mainland China. 

 

Skills and Experience:
Essential:

  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin - listening, speaking, reading and writing
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a target driven sales environment.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant subjects
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to assimilate information rapidly.
  • Strong presentation skills in order to demo products successfully.
  • Proficient with technology and computer literacy
  • Must demonstrate initiative and be self-motivated in order to secure results in a sale environment.
  • Proven attention to detail 
  • Ability to work under pressure. 
  • Experience traveling extensively in China.
     

Desirable:
Digital learning experiences is the plus; the experience in Education Publishing or teaching.
