Position Description


Responsible for accurately performing warehouse activities related to the receiving, storing, and shipping of product while maintaining company standards in safety, security, quality, and productivity.  These activities could require the regular use of powered material handling equipment, radio frequency devices, or computer systems.


Performs routine and repetitive operations and processes:

  • Responsible for the receipt and shipment of materials, supplies, and products.
  • Records received and shipped items according to established procedures.
  • Sorts, fills, packs, places, and arranges orders from warehouse stock, shelves, or bins according to written order.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock, stage orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Checks orders for exactness and neatness.
  • Efficiently moves and loads product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers.
  • Performs picking duties in an efficient manner that meets both company and customer standards.
  • Seals, weighs, transports, stacks, and labels parcels with appropriate identification labels.
  • Handles and maintains flow of materials and products in distribution areas according to established guidelines. 
  • May operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment once necessary company training is completed.

Maintains company standards regarding safety and security:

  • Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area.  Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Participates in all required safety training and constantly adheres to all rules and regulations given during courses. 
  • Complies with all warehouse safety rules, OSHA regulations and SDS Standards.


  • Must have the ability to learn the necessary skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors for the purposes of cross training and job assignments in all departments.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.  Familiarity with material handling and radio frequency equipment is beneficial.
  • Productivity - Takes responsibility for self and workload by completing projects/assignment within established department standards.
  • Quality - Understands the importance of minimizing errors by maintaining accuracy of work within department standards /averages. Adheres to all production procedures and reports and/or eliminates variances.
  • Attendance - Maintains attendance points within limits. Manages occasional time off effectively to ensure the needs/demands of the facility are met.
  • Safety - Demonstrates the importance of protecting company assets by adhering to safety protocols and promoting safe practices. Reports unsafe practices, behaviors and conditions to Distribution Supervisor/Manager, or HR when appropriate.
  • Development/Flexibility/Team Work - Assists others as needed, regardless of duty or assignment to ensure the demands of the facility are met. Accepts job assignments with a positive attitude and treats co-workers with utmost respect.
  • Communication - Takes the initiative to acknowledge issues/inefficiencies within the operation and provides possible solutions/suggestions.
  • Must be able to read and write in English, count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly.
  • Must be able to work overtime when business needs require.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time. 
  • Must be able to lift/push/carry up to 50 lbs frequently. 
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).

Must be able to work from variable heights while wearing a safety harness while working in a position that requires that use of equipment operation.
