OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

As the Associate Product Manager for the ELA Intervention team within Supplemental and Intervention Solutions (SIS), you will participate on cross-functional teams focused on the growth of our reading intervention programs, reporting to the Senior Product Manager. The ideal candidate has content and project management experience for web-based software, and an interest in K–12 education. In addition he/she will be energetic, eager to learn, self-motivated, detail-oriented and curious.

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Work collaboratively among multiple teams including editorial, design, marketing, research, engineering, and QA to define, design, implement, and test features and to maintain production schedule and product quality. Ensure that goals for the application are clearly conveyed through instructional design, interface and navigation, and instructional features of the product.
  2. Support the Sr. Product Manager and/or Technical Product Manager to drive deliverables and schedule and to meet project milestones. Help manage completion of top priority features.
  3. Utilize Agile methodologies and project management tools to participate as a product development team member by assisting with Sprint planning and review meetings, and performing other duties including writing stories and acceptance criteria.
  4. Proactively communicate with team members and management, including escalating issues, sharing product documentation, and providing status updates.
  5. Develop, review, and distribute presentations, stories, wireframes, functional specs, and other support documentation as necessary. 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software/technical product development or related field
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in education technology industry and children's media (print and digital) a plus
  • Exposure to Agile development framework and project management tools (e.g. JIRA) preferred.

  • Proficiency with Jira, Excel, as well as Project Management software

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
