Job Title:  Delivery Lead III: Supplemental and Intervention Solutions

Location: New York City, NY

Description & Responsibilities:

The Delivery Lead III within the Supplemental and Intervention Solutions division of HMH facilitates the continuous delivery of value to HMH customers through coordination and collaboration with development teams.  They leverage and apply relevant Lean and Agile development best practices to quickly, iteratively, and efficiently develop digital-first solutions that solve specific market problems and improve outcomes for both teachers and students.

Working independently, the Delivery Lead III responsibilities include:

  • Serves as the scrum master for a cross-functional team that is responsible for delivering content solutions
  • Encourages the scrum team to experiment, discover, test, develop, and deliver solutions in a variety of media formats
  • Delivers value by defining and implementing innovative agile delivery solutions that enhance intra-team processes and effectiveness.
  • Applies agile concepts in the facilitation and documentation of ceremonies to promote the timely completion of work that meets or exceeds HMH standards and customer expectations
  • Nurtures a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability within teams through clear, repeatable, and measurable processes
  • Actively participates in retrospectives to solve problems and improve team output and collaboration.
  • Understands the relative priority of the product backlog, commitments, milestones within a delivery plan, budget, and scope of deliverables across multiple teams.
  • Collects and shares a variety of data and provides the context and rationale for Agile practices and metrics
  • Reports out on status of projects and deliverables to all stakeholders
  • Transparently tracks progress to identify risks, manage expectations, and drive accountability
  • Completes required reporting accurately and on time
  • Manages vendors, create SOWs, tracks progress using Jira, Smartsheet, and other tools, and publishes content to platform environments
  • Maintains and reports out on the following: risk log, decision log, change logs, scope, and budget
  • Maintains a "connected" mindset and looks for opportunities to align across scrum teams, when applicable.
  • Works across divisions, disciplines, and scrum teams, noting discrepancies in processes and expectations and opportunities to build consensus.

Measures of Success:

  • Iterative deliveries of solutions that meet market problem needs on time and budget as measured by product sales, customer testimonials, and platform usage data
  • Successful delivery of products or projects as outlined in relevant OKRs and product goals
  • Demonstrated evidence to support individual Performance Management goals
  • Satisfying team needs as measured by surveys, retrospectives, and other means of team feedback.  Applies Agile and traditional project management best practices across multiple teams.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion is critical
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, support, and understand project teams
  • Familiar with a variety of publishing and technology industry concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Five to six years of experience managing or contributing to projects in a Scrum framework
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or relevant technical field is preferred
  • Experience within the publishing and educational technology fields preferred
  • Scrum Master certification preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Proficient with scrum planning tools, including but not limited to Jira
  • Proficient with Smartsheet and Confluence
