This position, located in Portsmouth, NH will be a full-time position dedicated to marketing content development and curation that nurtures and extends the brands market penetration and supports brand marketing strategy.

 

The Fountas & Pinnell Marketing Manager is responsible for managing, implementing and conceptualizing identified aspects of the overarching brand market strategy with an emphasis on marketing content development and curation, with a focus on marketing writing efforts, as well as nurturing the relationship with the Heinemann sales team.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of literacy education and knowledge of the resources from Fountas and Pinnell.

 

In collaboration with the Director of Fountas & Pinnell Marketing and the Fountas & Pinnell Marketing team, the Fountas & Pinnell Marketing Manager will be responsible for contributing to identified aspects of the brand strategy and marketing campaigns with an emphasis on:

  • Implementation of strategic marketing activities and promotional campaigns
  • Supporting the F&P Marketing Director in the creation of new marketing tools, promotions, and events
  • Participation in the development of the F&P brand marketing strategy
  • Partnering with Director to identify and modify brand positioning strategies and sales support, as well as launch new marketing initiatives as identified
  • Contributing to the research and reporting of market trends, competitive issues/products, customer issues and sales force needs 
  • Helping to gather, analyze and summarize data on F&P campaigns, webinars, social media activity, market opportunities/gaps, and overall sales reports to support and inform overarching marketing strategy and product line profitability
  • Participate in marketing and sales meetings to ensure growth in product knowledge
  • Working with and communicate with senior and mid-level management and to interact constructively with colleagues by establishing mutual respect
  • Traveling to and assisting with the management of brand presence at national exhibits and conferences including events, giveaways, marketing collateral, author signings, booth display, booth staffing, etc.

 

In this capacity, the Fountas & Pinnell Marketing Manager must be able to monitor trends, be a strong writer and communicator, be able to identify market needs and opportunities, and contribute to identified aspects of the overarching brand strategy. The ideal candidate will have excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to formulate and effectively communicate product and system features to high-level educational decision-makers and to represent the organization in a manner that reflects positively on the authors’ reputation and brand. 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, English, Communications, or other related field
  • 3+ years of experience in education, marketing,  or communications

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of K-12 education market
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator including strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in-depth projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines in an independent and fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Fountas and Pinnell materials
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant digital marketing tools and social media channels
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams

 

Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
