ROLE SUMMARY

The Offering Specialist

  • Coordinates the provision, oversight, review, and on-schedule delivery of offering information, Bill of Materials, and product master data for their assigned projects.
  • Guides assigned projects through offering development milestones on time:
  • monitoring status and schedule, and
  • troubleshooting issues.
  • Proactively works and collaborates with other HMH functional groups to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

Offering Information

  • Executes the creation of offering products and bundling of products by requesting material codes, ISBNs, pricing, and master data in HMH systems
  • Applies knowledge of best practices for offering information and product master data development.
  • Applies knowledge of the components of an offering that make up a program to implement offering strategy.
  • Applies knowledge of processes, workflows, and procedures that support offering development.
  • Ensures that all project deliverables meet or exceed established standards and specifications for offering and master data, consistency, style, and accuracy
  • Ensures process performance and takes necessary actions to improve product quality. May communicate process and procedures with stakeholders.
  • Ensures that offering development reports and trackers are kept up to date.

Project and Resource Management

  • Efficiently and effectively delivers assigned projects while meeting expected content quality assurance standards within required time frames.
  • Adheres to project schedules and established processes, monitoring and communicating status, troubleshooting issues, taking appropriate actions based on sound decision-making, and appropriately escalating risks.
  • Contributes to effective team resource planning by providing updates on workload and regular prioritization of work.
  • Identifies and escalates issues with offering information and product master data to Offering Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Indicates the minimum required education level, previous experience, specific knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as preferred experiences/skills for this position.

Education Level and/or relevant experience

  • BS/BA in related discipline
  • At least 1-3 years of related industry or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of print and/or digital production or publishing experience
  • At least 2 years of copyediting, proofreading, and/or other content quality assurance experience

  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Verbal and written communication must be professional, comprehensive, clear, direct, and accurate.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and self-managed. Must be able to work independently and as a member of a diverse group.

  • Must be comfortable with technology and be familiar with Excel, MS office, and Smartsheet

  • Understanding of fundamentals of print and/or digital production and publishing processes
  • Knowledge of standard publishing technology tools
  • Experience in SAP master Data creation
