What you’ll do: This position assists management in accurate revenue reporting and deal review which accomplishes customer objectives while yielding desired economics and accounting outcomes.

Working in Revenue Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following primary duties:

  • Work closely with Management in reviewing significant sales contracts to reduce contract related issues to ensure proper revenue recognition.  Review and document multi-element sales contracts to support compliance with applicable authoritative literature and reduce contract related issues to ensure proper revenue recognition.  Review revenue management system (RMS) accounting and adjust as necessary.
  • Prepare and update weekly/monthly/annual schedules, revenue and deferred revenue journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and reporting. 
  • Analyze and understand various service/product offerings and revenue streams to ensure proper revenue recognition and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely revenue recognition
  • Support special projects as requested  Prepare Ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Support Internal and External audits by compiling requested revenue transaction documentation.  Assist development and implementation of process and procedures for accurate and timely revenue recognition including development of effective systems of internal controls over revenue reporting.

 

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Software/Technology industry or corporate experience in a similar role with relevant revenue exposure, CPA Preferred
  • Working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US-GAAP), including ASC 606 Revenue from contract with customers
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills and interest in identifying and fixing problems.
  • Ability to draw conclusions, recommend and implement changes to improve processes to mitigate risk
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction from management
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, V-look-up)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and management to drive sound business decisions
