Director Sales Strategy

The Sales Strategist for the State Adoption territory supports multiple regions in achieving revenue targets for core embedded and connected solutions and services. 

 

Sales Strategist:

  • In collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs), Area Sales Directors (ASDs), Product Management & Strategy (PM&S) and Product Marketing (PM) teams, lead the development of strategy for key state adoption campaigns to achieve 100% of the core solutions and services revenue goal.  These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Advise on connected bid strategies
    • Position against competition
    • Identify adoption-specific marketing needs
    • Align to state specific initiatives, etc. 
  • Monitor the progress of key State Adoption campaigns to guide strategic activities and decision-making as the campaigns develop.
  • Proactively identify prework campaign needs and strategies for targeted states with adoptions two to three years in the future.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Enablement to develop and deliver enablement sessions for the sales team.   
  • Act as liaison between Field Sales, PM&S, PM and Field Marketing to facilitate trainings/communication to the field sales team including product differentiators, updates availability dates, collateral, marketing trends, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Segment Directors on strategies and positioning for HMH solutions and services to grow all lines of business.  

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Participate in ad-hoc focus groups to provide product development/marketing input
  • Present at regional and national sales meetings
  • Participate and assist at national sales events such as Summits and Conventions
  • Communicate with regional and national team members in a timely manner

 

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 7 years industry experience in Educational Publishing and/or Ed Tech
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Sales, Sales Strategy, and/or Marketing positions

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods of time, 4+ hours.
  • Must be able to stand and present to audiences for 2+ hours.
  • Must be able to travel up to 60-70% of the time through a combination of domestic air travel and driving a car.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings
