Acting as a Compensation Mgr, this role is responsible for providing a wide variety of business-focused compensation guidance and expertise partnering closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and business leaders. This role will help lead company-wide compensation initiatives to align with the company’s strategy and values.

Serve as consultant to HR Business Partners and Management with respect to all compensation matters including but not limited to salary management, compensation philosophy, job evaluations, programs, policies, retention needs, and re-organizations to help support the business’ strategic objectives.


• Participate in the planning, development and implementation of employee compensation policies and programs • Manage annual compensation year-end cycle, particularly merit and bonus, and other compensation-related projects including communications, administration, and implementation, working closely with HR Business Partners, HRIS and other stakeholders throughout the process


• Responsible for survey submission and market pricing and positioning of jobs; reviewing and updating salary ranges & level guide annually; responsible for maintaining job title integrity to HMH structures


• Evaluate job descriptions for accuracy and FLSA classification • Create solutions to specific compensation related issues as needed to support the business


Eductaion and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in compensation or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compensation practices/trends.
  •  Professional and clear communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyze a variety of data, determine validity, draw conclusions and make recommendations in a clear, concise and easily understandable manner
  •  Strong project management and organizational skills


Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
