HMH is seeking a self-driven, innovative marketing professional to join its Field Sales Marketing team. The Open Territory Marketing Manager is responsible for creating, developing and implementing regional, state and local campaigns to support HMH revenue objectives within assigned area. Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Open Territory Marketing, the position collaborates with team members and works in partnership with colleagues across the company to ensure HMH solutions are positioned and marketed appropriately to meet customer issues and competitive market trends. The ideal candidate will thrive on owning the campaign development process from start to finish, including strategy development, multi-channel execution, and post-campaign analysis. The Marketing Manager follows best practices in creating campaigns with the most effective tactics and channels to achieve results.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage in strategy-based marketing campaign planning that drives toward revenue goals for assigned state, regional and local area to ensure maximum return on marketing investment, resources, and sales revenue.
  • Develop strategic marketing plans and drive execution across multiple channels to meet sales objectives including presales awareness through local campaigns. Leverage multiple tactics and assets, including digital and print collateral, social media, web presence, email, inside sales plans, specialized proposals, prospect events, presentations, etc.
  • Prioritize and execute customized content for strategic issues and supplement national marketing activities to increase HMH position in open territory accounts.  
  • Adapt national messaging and targeted assets, when needed, and leverage HMH competitive differentiators to position for designated market and large RFP opportunities.
  • Internalize educational trends and initiatives in order to create campaigns and tailor messaging that is on point, pedagogically sound and strategically meaningful to the customer.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure campaign objectives align with targeted HMH goals and applicable digital and social tactics are incorporated.
  • Maintain knowledge of national nurture paths and effectively intersect with tactics for campaign leads.
  • Participate in pre and post-mortems to increase knowledge of best channels to use for effectiveness/ROI.
  • Provide updates for campaign and state web pages to ensure relevant, timely HMH content is presented.
  • Leverage HMH brand/message, while ensuring consistency and integrity behind company brand guidelines, including style and usage.

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience needed
  • Minimum 5 years marketing experience
  • Sales experience is a plus
  • Education industry experience is preferred
  • Experience with traditional and digital marketing channels, including strategies and analytics
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and SharePoint is a plus
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and writing skills

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods of time, 4+ hours.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings
