What you’ll do:  

Reporting to the Early Learning Solutions Strategy Director (ELSSD), the Early Learning Solutions Strategist (ELSS) is a demonstrated professional with subject area expertise who is highly collaborative, productive, flexible, and innovative. In this position, the ELSS is responsible for helping the Partner Accounts Team acquire new customers (Partners), support existing NWEA customers (Partners), and increase NWEA’s leadership position in both the national and international markets. The purpose of this role is to work closely with the Account Executives (AEs) and Account Managers (AMs) to support through product knowledge and understanding of early reading and during the sales process from prospecting to renewal and expansion conversations. This work is key to maximizing new sales, supporting current accounts, and expanding our early learning footprint. The ELSS will also collaborate with the ELSSD, and other internal NWEA teams, e. g., Professional Learning, Partner Support, Marketing, Product, etc., as needed, to advance the company's mission.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be the primary early reading expert (SME) contact for a portfolio of prospects and partners.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge to position products in a way that reflects product strengths while aligning with market issues, curriculum and assessment trends, and customer needs
  • Collaborate with AEs and AMs to actively prospect and close opportunities for NWEA early learning products and services, including the Map Early Learning Suite, Map Reading Fluency + Coach, and professional learning workshops
  • Provide product webinars, data coaching, address product functionality questions, and support AEs and AMs in all early reading conversations.
  • Assist AEs and AMs with the development of territory strategies to penetrate and grow assigned geographic regions
  • Assist the PA team with complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Stay current and knowledgeable about NWEA products and services and the education market, including reading trends, research, policies, and market competition.
  • Inform AEs, AMs, prospects, and partners about features and benefits of products and services on a regular and proactive basis.
  • Use Salesforce to manage collaborative work with AEs and AMs, keep data accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure success of our partners, the PA team, and the entire organization.
  • Between 25 to 50% travel may be required based on prospect, partner or NWEA events.

  • Exceptional understanding of early reading and early literacy research, including dyslexia and special education, instructional and assessment practices with ability to have significant conversations with district and school early learning educators
  • Ability to proactively address prospect or partner early reading needs

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in reading or reading endorsement preferred (An equivalent combination of work experience and/or education will be considered in lieu of a degree.)
  • Minimum of five years classroom teaching and or school or district administration preferred
  • Deep knowledge of current ELA and reading standards, i.e., CCSS, and implications for instruction and assessment
  • Deep knowledge of early reading research, dyslexia, special education, and best practices in instruction, assessment, and professional learning
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MAP Suite and MAP Reading Fluency preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-lingual district programming preferred

Benefits and Salary Range

  • Salary Range - $90-95K +  commission structure
