HMH’s Channel Marketing team is looking for a Senior Web Content Manager to drive and enhance content strategy on hmhco.com to support strategic digital growth objectives and KPI’s related to content engagement and conversion rate. A new role within the Marketing organization, the Senior Web Content Manager will be instrumental in furthering our digital transformation by partnering closely with Design/Copy and Product Marketing teams within an agile web content refresh workflow to develop compelling digital-first narratives around our products and solutions and evangelizing digital best practices across the organization. This role will also partner with the Demand Generation team to orchestrate strategic, integrated, inbound marketing campaigns, leveraging digital content best practices to maximize the site’s effectiveness as a brand engagement and lead conversion tool.


The ideal candidate will have experience refining and identifying user personas, optimizing customer journeys through content mapping, and measuring content effectiveness through advanced analytics and user testing.


This role will also own and maintain content guidelines for the site to ensure page layout, copy, imagery, and content module usage support goal user paths for the site, adhere to user experience and digital best practices, and create new pages/sections within existing site taxonomy and content architecture.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience overseeing and helping to execute day-to-day, goal-oriented site content strategy
  • Strong digital copywriting skills (optimizing around SEO, engagement, brand voice/narrative, readability, and conversion, especially with calls to action)
  • Managing a cross-functional, agile site content production process with multiple stages, stakeholder reviews, and timelines
  • Leveraging user behavior analytics as well as embedded user testing to optimize content strategy for a wide range of users with differing and complex needs/expectations
  • Driving the development and usage of key artifacts like user personas and customer journey and content mapping
  • Evangelizing digital best practices and providing a pathway to change for stakeholders
  • Managing re-platforming/relaunch of websites, including informing CMS authoring experience requirements, content architecture and nomenclature, sitemap, and SEO/redirect strategy


Preferred Experience

  • Implementing agile methodology for Marketing campaigns/activities
  • Driving and implementing content personalization/segmentation
  • Change management training - Navigating the successful roll-out and adoption of new processes and ways of working to further digital transformation within a team or department
  • Has participated in a multi-site re-platforming effort to implement Enterprise-level Marketing systems and capabilities
