Senior Business Process Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Business Process Analyst's role is to devise and design business process requirements for all business, financial, and operations areas critical to core organizational functions. This includes researching and analyzing data in support of business functions, process knowledge, and systems requirements. The Senior Business Process Analyst is also responsible for proactively generating and compiling reports based on his or her findings, complete with recommended improvements to - or new requirements for - business processes and operational procedures.

The Senior Business Process Analyst's is also responsible to work with business leaders and IT business representatives to ensure understanding of requirements and their alignment to future strategic direction of the business/function. Facilitates business process development workshops and uses knowledge and expertise in various process elicitation tools and techniques along with continuous improvement methodologies such as Agile and Lean to successfully step through existing processes while enhancing or developing new processes.  Elicits and documents functional and non-functional requirements to meet business needs. Identifies business drivers and anticipates future business and technology requirements

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of plans, roadmaps and strategies related to the specific business processes assigned to (aligned/involved with)
  • Assist business units and project management in development of time and cost projections associated with specific business processes improvements they are involved in
  • Facilitate, elicit, and analyze business requirements targeted at improving operational maturity and/or efficiency/effectiveness
  • Execute Agile development methodologies including documentation of formal requirements, use cases, user stories and models that map business strategy, customer demands, and technology delivery
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.
  • Analyze business processes and provide innovative and scalable solutions to increase operational maturity
  • Consult with other roles including business (or IT) clients, appropriate architects (enterprise, business, solution), and project manager to improve aggregate business process requirements
  • Identify areas of process improvement (efficiency and effectiveness) and recommend improvement solutions to support business activities
  • Collaborate with business clients on options, risk and impacts on business processes, along with cultural / change adoption
  • Document key processes within area of responsibility in a clear and concise way
  • Actively identify risks and escalate upwards to ensure appropriate risk mitigation (as appropriate)
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Application Development or Financial Solution Teams to support translation of business requirements into functional and non-functional
  • Contribute to the organization of business requirements / processes in a repository for ongoing usage and reference
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to share business process knowledge and leading practices
  • Comfortable facilitating discovery sessions to gain insights into end user and customer needs.
  • Support the implementation of Business Architecture and analysis delivery standards and deliverables, peer training, and the continuous enhancement of Business Architecture and Analysis capabilities.
  • Timely and accurate escalation of risk and issues for the production and maintenance of applicable project metrics and status reports within a project.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business Administration required or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of business architecture and business analysis experience
  • 3+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects with Green Belt Certification
  • Experience with Agile and other system development lifecycle and methodologies with CBAP Certification
