We’re hiring a Product Marketing Director for Professional Development Services. Our Professional Development Services (PD) department delivers author-driven content that is among the very best educator professional learning in the industry. In this role you will be responsible for creating and executing marketing plans that drive revenue for online and on-site professional learning products and services while using data to measure success and support the PD Services and Sale teams via targeted digital campaigns, creative assets, and sales support.  

 

You will work closely with the Professional Development Services team, Heinemann authors, the Web and IT team, and Sales and Marketing colleagues to bring customer-focused campaigns to life. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Marketing, you will adeptly manage multiple priorities and build engaging stories that convey Heinemann’s PD Services value to our customers.

 

To be successful you’ll need to have a proven track record of success in strategically planning and executing seasonal campaigns connecting customers with targeted content via digital and print tactics.  Experience driving strategy, executing tactics, and measuring results required.

  

Key responsibilities:

  • Create the go-to-market message and strategy for Heinemann’s Professional Development Services.
  • Strategize and execute key marketing campaigns that drive revenue.
  • Work with the creative team to effectively integrate advanced visual design and motion graphics into campaigns.
  • Direct the development and deploy all promotional content.
  • Manage the Professional Development Services team’s marketing budget.

 

Must have Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possess deep understanding of the needs of educators and administrators and can translate this understanding into customer-centric marketing strategies and deliverables.
  • Ability to translate marketing plans into specific short- and long-term business objectives, by defining metrics, milestones and accountabilities.
  • Independent thinker with leadership skills grounded in diplomatic communication and solid collaboration skills – able to lead/support colleagues as needed.
  • Self-starter: Driven to exceed goals, anticipate marketing needs and take ownership of competitive analyses and documentation.  
  • Creative problem-solver who is flexible and solutions-oriented; can juggle multiple projects and pivot quickly based on internal or external stakeholder needs.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to balance the big picture and attention to detail.

 

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Marketing, Business, or related area
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience in educational technology and/or professional learning
  • Experience creating and executing multi-channel campaigns.
  • Digital marketing experience

 

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience marketing PD Services or higher education learning opportunities.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel; HTML editing skills (Dreamweaver preferred).

 

Physical Requirements

  • Travel required, post-COVID, at least 6 times per year, possibly more frequently during intensive periods of training, planning meetings, or campaigns.
  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing) for 4+ hours.
  • The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery and/or tools.
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
