Senior UX Designer

You are an energetic creative UX Designer ready to make an impact in the highly competitive and evolving US educational technology market, creating engaging digital experiences for students and educators as part of an organization dedicated to improving the lives of K-12 students and teachers. Our UX design team is an international group of like-minded creatives who want you to help propel us into a new age of innovative and effective digital educational solutions. 

  

As a Senior UX Designer, you are experienced in working in a collaborative agile environment working with high performing, agile cross-functional teams to define the needs of students and teachers and create and validate effective digital solutions. 

 

 You have good leadership and communication skills, a passion for your craft, and love of problem solving. You create seamless intuitive solutions informed by UX best practices as well as current and emerging design trends and technologies that engage users of all ages. You will be able to work with minimal supervision and mentor other designers working on your team. 

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Be the voice of the user on your team, ensuring we are focusing on the right problems and value for our users 

  • Create digital design solutions that are a delight to use and provide a frictionless path through content and connected product offerings 

  • Plan and facilitating workshops to involve your cross functional team in the design process 

  • Create experience maps, storyboards, user scenarios, wireframes, mock-ups and user flows for rapid testing and iteration 

  • Validate ideas and designs using best practices in accessibility and UX Research 

  • Collaborate and communicate professionally with other internal teams and key stakeholders 

  • Design and exercising ownership of user-experiences from low-fidelity rapid prototypes to hi-fidelity mock-ups. 

  • Create and communicating detailed specifications and design intent to engineers. 

  

Skills & Experience: 

  • 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in UX planning and design, with a strong understanding of identifying User Insights, articulating UX visions and how to leverage them to successfully deliver enjoyable and successful experiences  

  • Strong work portfolio that demonstrates your capabilities in the UX process, and product design delivery. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to recognize and predict use cases and user interaction and incorporate them into design solutions. 

  • Experience or understanding of working within a cross-functional team or large-scale software development lifecycle using agile methodology. 

  • You are comfortable with changing priorities, demands and timelines. 

  • Experience of overseeing a team of designers, directing their work, and developing their abilities through mentoring and coaching. 

  • An understanding of UX research methods and data analytics to determine user engagement and sentiment. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Experience planning and facilitating Design Thinking workshops and Design Sprints. 

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills. 

  • Expertise in Responsive Design principles and best practices. 

  • Strong UI Skills. 

  • Proficient in visual design programs such as: 

  • Figma, Sketch, Mural & Adobe suite. 

  

Beneficial Experience: 

  

  • Familiarity with foundational HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks 

  • Experience in Agile development working in Scrum multi-discipline teams 

 

Education: 

  • Relevant third level degree
