What you’ll do:

This role supports the Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer and Sr. Director Capability Development, in achieving our strategic and annual plans for equity and inclusion across the HMH business. Ensures HMH K12 content and business materials receive equity reviews according to research-based Content Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (CEID) guidelines. Role is also responsible for but not limited to:  

·         Creating CEID training protocols, leveraging Lean and Agile principles, developing and implementing learning across HMH teams, equity & inclusion review panels, and HMH development/vendor partners

·         Ensuring guidelines, according to industry best practices and authoritative sources, are reviewed, updated at least biannually.

·         Monitoring the K-12 education marketplace for DEI trends, best practices, and market needs.

·         Supporting centralization of various equity and culturally affirming practices and activities and syncing of those efforts.

·         Supporting and/or overseeing the activities, assignments, and outcomes of CEID review panels and Equity Advisory Council for Learning (EACL) to ensure meeting annual Objectives and Key Results (OKR).

·         Managing the tracking and reporting of CEID success, trends, OKRs, and opportunities for improved impact on HMH programs and materials. 

·         Supports ongoing capability development and operations key initiatives

 

While this role does not have direct reports, this leader interacts independently with the K12 LOB leadership team and key HMH functional stakeholders and leads the successful execution of business commitments, objectives, and strategic initiatives for the Capability Development & Operations team. The Content Equity Program Director must be highly organized, autonomous, flexible, and possess organizational and leadership savvy, while proactively and independently prioritizing for successful outcomes.

 

 

What you’ll need:

  • BS/BA in Operations, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of management experience in related industry or functional area
  • Possesses a compelling track record of accomplishing successful, complex assignments in DEI field of study
  • Experience in:
  • Must have exceptional project management skills exhibited by leading multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment. Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, organization, and outstanding follow-up skills. Must drive on-time, high-quality results.
  • Must be able to use critical thinking to identify, understand, and articulate problems and risks as well as analyze problems and opportunities in order to reach decisions. Must be able to mobilize stakeholders to determine a course of action and strategize solutions.
  • Understanding of:
    • extensive knowledge of change management approaches to driving change across an organization.
  • Ability to:
    • build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners and customers. Must be able to exercise sound judgment to identify, respond to, and quickly escalate critical issues to managers in a professional manner. Must be quick to share his or her knowledge and experience, as well as seek feedback.
  •  People skills needed to:
    • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.  Must be able to frame an issue concisely through effective presentations and messaging. Must be able to tailor message for audience as appropriate.
    • Must be an exceptional and proven leader who is able to motivate diverse groups and lead positively and proactively in a changing environment with evolving processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing)
  • Constantly operate a computer
  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings

 

  • Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time. 

 

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.

 

 

Benefits and Salary Range

Salary Range - $90,000 to $105,000
