Warehouseperson II-Maintenance Tech.

Office-based position-Geneva IL.

 

Position Summary

Responsible for accurately performing maintenance activities for all company assets and equipment related to the safe and efficient operation of the facility, while maintaining company standards in safety, security, quality, and productivity. Responsible for working independently from both written and verbal instructions. Will be required to be on-call/flexible as related to their work schedule to accommodate special projects, emergencies, and work shifts.

 

Primary Responsibilities

•Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and inspections of all company assets to assure they are working safely and efficiently.

•Material Handling Equipment: Inspect, maintain, and repair forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.  Perform/document scheduled preventive maintenance on all material handling equipment.

•Conveyor Systems: Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyor systems as required to ensure that they operate safely and efficiently causing little or no down time to the operation.  Perform/document scheduled preventive maintenance on all conveyor equipment.

•Cleaning: Trash and recycling from other departments. Use of floor scrubber. General indoor cleaning.

•Storage Systems: Erect, replace, and maintain all storage systems such as racks and shelving as required.

•Fire Protection Systems: Perform scheduled inspections on fire protection systems which includes, testing fire pumps, flushing sprinkler system, inspecting fire extinguishers, opening/closing PIV valves, and ensuring that the fire alarms are functional per insurance regulations.

•Plumbing: Perform basic plumbing repairs as required.

•Electrical: Perform electrical repairs and installations such as lighting fixtures, outlets, transformers, breaker panels, conduit installation, wiring, and electrical repairs to the conveyor systems.

•Welding: Perform basic construction repairs as required.

•Carpentry: Perform basic carpentry and painting as required.

•Facility Grounds: Maintain the outside appearance of the facility and the surrounding grounds

•Industrial Battery Maintenance:  Complete battery maintenance and testing. Battery swapping.

•Miscellaneous: Maintains all related equipment as required to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the distribution facility.

 

What You'll Need:

 

•High School/GED graduate

•1-2 years of experience in related area of responsibility

•Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electricity, fire protection systems, conveyor systems, forklift mechanics, HVAC, and the ability to read/understand electrical schematics and blueprints.

•Must be able to work overtime when business needs require.

•Will be required to be on-call/flexible as related to their work schedule to accommodate special projects, emergencies, and work shifts.

 

Nice to Have:

•Technical certification or Associates degree preferred

•2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance preferred

•Previous experience in electrical componentry and three phase wiring preferred

•Familiar with material handling equipment is preferred

 

Physical Requirements

•Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.

•Must be able to lift/push/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.

•Must be able to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).

•Must be able to work from variable heights while wearing a safety harness.
