HMH is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support Finance teams across revenue and expense reporting, enterprise reporting, recurring monthly financial processes, data management, and financial data validation.

This role is well suited for an early-career finance professional who enjoys working with data, executing repeatable processes accurately and on time, and improving the tools and documentation that support Finance operations. The Financial Analyst will work across multiple recurring Finance processes and partner with analysts and Finance leaders to help ensure financial information is complete, accurate, timely, and presentation-ready.

The position will also provide opportunities to build skills in Excel, Power BI, enterprise reporting, financial systems, process improvement, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Process monthly expense service entries and associated supporting documentation for Financial Business Partner leads.
• Refresh monthly enterprise financial reporting presentations and dashboards, ensuring underlying data, charts, tables, commentary, and formatting are accurate and current.
• Assist with month-end reporting processes and preparation of financial information for internal stakeholders.
• Perform daily financial validation activities to identify missing, inconsistent, or inaccurate financial information.
• Support financial data management activities across reporting files, systems, and dashboards.
• Maintain, modify, and enhance Excel-based Finance files, models, and reporting templates.
• Develop, maintain, and improve clear process documentation, procedures, checklists, and supporting materials for recurring Finance activities.
• Communicate identified data issues, process concerns, and reporting discrepancies clearly and promptly.
• Demonstrate accountability for assigned tasks and consistently meet established deadlines.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, financial reporting, data analysis, or a related area.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data manipulation, and spreadsheet formatting.
• Ability to work with large data sets and perform detailed data validation and reconciliation.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple recurring assignments and deadlines.
• Ability to follow documented processes while also identifying opportunities to improve them.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Finance environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or professional experience in FP&A, Finance, Accounting, financial reporting, or business analytics.
• Exposure to enterprise financial systems or planning/reporting platforms such as Power BI, SAP, Anaplan, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar tools.
• Experience creating or maintaining process documentation.
• Familiarity with month-end close, financial reconciliations, revenue reporting, expense reporting, or audit support.
• Interest in developing advanced Excel, financial systems, reporting automation, and data visualization capabilities.
